Earlier, Service tax is to be paid above Rs. 10 lakhs rental income. Further it has covered residential as well as commercial properties. Also 10 lakh limit was for PAN India level. Now GST is to be paid once registration is taken but 20 lakh limit available with in the state but no ceiling limit for inter state rental income. Residential properties are outside the preview of GST if given for residential purpose.
