I mean, do they care about it? Not in the sense of it being a 'must-have' but more from using it as yet another data point to embellish their rationale for investing.
In an ideal world, the investors would do all of the below:
- Have a thorough understanding of the market, the opportunities and the potential
- Think like entrepreneurs and are constantly coming up with ideas and when they see one that aligns it sends fireworks up in their head
- Will ask for and analyze detailed metrics and know what the data means to the future prospects of the company
- Will talk to the larger team (pool of people beyond the founders) to understand their ability to build a business, sustain it and scale it
