In "Chaalbaaz", Sridevi played the double role of separated twin sisters, one having a huge fortune to which she was entitled only after turning 21. She was subjected to cruelty by her wicked uncle (Anupam Kher), who had designs on her fortune. The other role was that of a street-smart girl living in poverty. With each twin running away from their situations, they got mistaken for each other. The two male stars opposite were Sunny Deol and Rajnikant.
