Kishanji Maharaj belongs to Benares gharana of Tabla playing. Kishan Maharaj was expert in playing tougher and odd beats right from his childhood. It is said that he won a pair of Tabla by successfully playing Tibra Taal (of seven beats) when he was only seven years of age!
