Hi Swati, investing in SSY is much better than investing in PPF.

First the interest rate that is 9.1 %
and, You can also apply for tax deduction benefit under section 80 C of Income Tax Act 1961.

I think it was great tool to invest for girl child till the interest rate was highest. Now I don't think there is any difference between SSA or PPF. But yes, if you have a girl child, you can now utilize both the investment options to invest for long term.
