Khwandamir was the author of the book 'Qanun-i-Humayuni'. Khwandamir, like his grandfather, belonged to the Herat literary circle of Timurid vizier Mir Ali-Shir Navai. In 1527 the Moghul conqueror Babur invited Khwandamir to India. After the death of Babar, Khwandamir was attached to the court of Humayun for whom he wrote a treatise, entitled, Qanun-i-Humayuni. It describes particularly the administrative innovations introduced by the emperor during the early years of his reign.
