Sushma Swaraj, the Union External affairs minister, lead the Indian delegation at the Indian Ocean Conference 2017 (IOC 2017), which is started in Colombo, Sri Lanka on August 31, 2017. The theme of the conference is “Peace, progress, and prosperity”. The 2-day conference is being co-hosted by the India Foundation, a Delhi-based think tank, in collaboration with Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS), Singapore and National Institute of Fundamental Studies (NIFS), Colombo. The conference will see participation from around 35 countries and have speakers from 25 countries.
