Uttar Pradesh is the first state to endorse Centre’s triple talaq draft bill, Yogi Adityanath's government has endorsed it, the bill makes the practice of instant "triple talaq" a criminal offence. The draft law provides for three-year imprisonment and a fine to a man trying to divorce his wife by uttering “talaq” three times.
