The most prevalent element is the weave pattern used to make it. Corner to corner lines of strings, known as wales are woven together to give twill a strong, sturdy quality. It is present in garments for example, denim jeans and work garments, and it is used for furniture upholstery. Twill material shows considerably less dirt and recolouring than a consistent, sheer texture fabric would with a similar amount of use and wear.
