Mustang is known as the desert of Nepal
Mustang District, a part of Province No. 4 in Dhawalagiri Zone of northern Nepal, is one of the seventy-five districts of Nepal. Mustang is one of the remotest areas in Nepal and is second in terms of the sparsity of population, is known as the desert of Nepal because it is a vast and arid valley, distinguished by eroded canyons, vividly colored stratified rock formations and barren high-altitude deserts. This area receives an average annual rainfall of less than 260 mm.
