Rashtriya Vidyapith which later became Gujarat Vidyapith
Mahatma Gandhi ji was the first Chancellor from 18-10-1920 to 30-01-1948 and after that Sardar patel became the Chancellor. The purpose of Bapu to establish this university was to promote educational institutions run by Indians for Indians and outside the financial and governing control of British authorities.
