Tortoise is a symbol of good luck and it has a great significance in both Vastu Shastra and in Feng Shui. As tortoise is gifted with long life and therefore it describes Long Life in Vastu Shastra.
In Puranas, Lord Vishnu took the form of a tortoise to carry the weight of the mountain on his back during the Sagar Manthan; Lord Vishnu’s second avatar is Tortoise and is called a Kurma avatar.
