L'Ile de Nantes, in the River Loire, France
"Les Machines de l’île" is an imagining and realisation of Jules Verne’s "invented worlds", of the mechanical universe of Leonardo da Vinci, and of Nantes’ industrial history, in covered buildings of former shipyards on the 4.9 km (3.0 mi) long island in the middle of the River Loire where it runs through the city of Nantes. The "machines" include The Great Elephant, The Marine Worlds Carousel and ?The Heron Tree.
