Swastika
The swastika, with arms pointing clockwise, and its reverse direction, sauwastika, are ancient religious icons in the cultures of Eurasia. They are used as a symbol of divinity and spirituality in Indian religions. In Hinduism the swastika symbolises surya ('sun'), prosperity and good luck. The symbol is found in the archaeological remains of the Indus Valley civilisation and Mesopotamia, as well as in early Byzantine and Christian artwork, and its use has been widespread across more recent cultures in both secular and sacred contexts.
