Butterfly wings
Hirst's works include: a tiger shark suspended in formaldehyde ("The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Living"); the life cycle of flies, where maggots hatch inside a white minimal box, turn into flies, then feed on a bloody, severed cow's head on the floor of a claustrophobic glass vitrine ("A Thousand Years"); a human skull recreated in platinum and adorned with 8,601 diamonds ("For the Love of God").
