Bolivia
Sucre was founded by the Spanish in 1539, and acquired its French-looking name in 1839 when it was declared the capital of Bolivia and renamed in honour of the revolutionary leader Antonio José de Sucre. Sucre was a Venezuelan independence leader who served as the fourth President of Peru and the second President of Bolivia.
