Dhofar, Oman and Yemen
The plain, differing from the arid, rugged land inland, is fertile with a monsoon climate and temperate vegetation and bird life. The area and the sea off-shore is known for providing the habitat for some of the world's rarest endangered creatures, including the Arabian leopard and the Arabian humpback whale, the only non-migratory humpback whale.
