Pangolins
Pangolins are covered by large sharp hardened and overlapping plate-like scales made of keratin, the same material as human fingernails and animal claws. Armadillos have a leathery shell formed by plates of dermal bone covered in relatively small, overlapping epidermal bony scales; echidna and tenrecs have spines.
