Bridge
In 1964 and 1968 he played on (and in one case captained) teams in the World Team bridge Olympiad, in 1967 he founded the Omar Sharif Bridge Circus to tour and showcase some of the world's best professional bridge players, In the 1970s and 80s he co-wrote a bridge column for the Chicago Tribune, wrote and co-wrote several books on bridge, and in the late 1990s still played internationally (in teams in the European bridge Championships) until he stopped permanently in 2000 at the age of 68.
