The Polish law was enacted in 2010. In July 2011, in June 2012, in 2016, in June and July 2019, legislation to require forcible chemical castration in cases of paedophile rape was also passed in, respectively, South Korea, Moldova, Indonesia, Alabama (USA) and in Ukraine. In Ukraine the President vetoed the legislation before it became law. Other states in the USA already have or are mooting similar legislation. Voluntary chemical castration is or has been offered also in several countries in relation to a range of sexual charges.
