Australia
According to material, including "Cosme Monthly", in the National Library of Australia, the colony was officially founded on 28 September 1893 as Colonia Nueva Australia (New Australia), on land offered by the migrant-hungry Patagonian government, and comprised 238 people. The starting concept was a society based on a common-hold, rather than a common-wealth, a brotherhood of English-speaking whites, life marriage, preservation of the 'Colour-Line', teetotalism and Communism. There were increasing rifts, with some leaving to found another colony, "Cosme", or leave South America. Eventually New Australia was dissolved as a cooperative by the government of Paraguay, and each settler was given their own piece of land. The original founder quit the concept in 1899 and sailed for New Zealand.
