Atlantic seafloors off Brazil and Angola, and off the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Gabon
The Aptian is a subdivision of the Early or Lower Cretaceous epoch or series, approximately 125.0 ± 1.0 Ma to 113.0 ± 1.0 Ma (million years ago). The basins act as an important petroleum reservoir.
