The highest historically active volcano in the world
The two peaks of the mountain are estimated to be about 6,892 m (22,612 ft). The mountain also carries a small (100m diameter) freshwater lake which although small is viewed as the highest in the world. The vulture (Gyps africanus) is critically endangered but is an African native.
