Tajikistan
The range has some of the highest peaks to be found outside the Himalayas and the Karakorams, and, in the Southern Pamir, the longest glacier outside polar regions (although in the 21st century the southern glaciers are retreating rapidly). Several south-central Asian mountain ranges radiate from the Pamir Knot, including the Hindu Kush, the Karakoram Range, the Kunlun Mountains, and the Tien Shan.
