LTTE's women's wing had consisted of two brigades.

Malathi brigade
One of the two women's military brigades of LTTE. Named after the first woman killed on behalf of LTTE, during operations against the Indian Peace Keeping Force, Malathi.

Sothiya brigade
This is the other women's military brigade of LTTE. Named after Sothiya, commander of the first women's unit formed in 1989.

Summary About LTTE
LTTE or Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam also known as Tamil Tigers is a now-defunct militant organisation that was based in northern Sri Lanka. Founded in May 1976 by Velupillai Prabhakaran, it waged a secessionist nationalist insurgency to create an monoethnic, independent state in the north and east of Sri Lanka for Tamil people. This campaign led to the Sri Lankan Civil War, which ran from 1983 until 2009.
