Milton Keynes
There are three cows and three calves, approximately half life size, created in 1978 by Canadian-born artist Liz Leyh who was an "Artist in Residence" in the early days of Milton Keynes. Part of her aims were "community participation in art" and the community has participated enthusiastically ever since by, among others, painting them pink, beheading some, riding them, giving them pyjamas, providing them with a papier mache bull.
