Spain
The tango, or tangos, is a flamenco dance originating in Spain. However, towards the end of the 19th century, another dance which became popularly known, and also extremely popular, as tango developed in Argentina's dockside slums and dance halls, particularly in the brothels of Buenos Aires, and the lower-class districts of Montevideo in Uruguay. The 19th century tango fuses Native American, and immigrant African and European dance styles.
