Norway
Eight countries are members of the Arctic Council - Canada, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Iceland the USA and Russia - which has in addition 6 permanent participants with full consultation rights representing indigenous peoples of the Arctic. It also has several observers including the International Council for the Exploration of the Sea; Oceania; the National Geographic Society; the Oslo-Paris Commission; Switzerland; the West Nordic Council; and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO).
