Sinovac
The Sinovac vaccine was developed by China, and in July 2020 was among three different vaccines approved by China for emergency use in their key workers and other people at high risk. Initial trials used minimal participants, trials continued. China later supplied one or more of its several vaccines to several countries. Gamelaya's vaccine was approved by Russia for distribution in the country, on the preliminary results of Phase III studies, in early August and then made available to other countries. The first vaccines developed and authorised for use in the West were from Pfizer-BioNTech and from Oxford-AstraZeneca, in December 2020.
