Painted birds
"Urú" is a native bird and "uruguá" refers to a river snail of the area, but the interpretation of "river of painted birds" was suggested by the Uruguayan poet Juan Zorrilla de San Martín. The main course of the Uruguay is a shallow north-south arc and forms parts of the boundaries of Brazil, Argentina, and Uruguay
