CCUS stands for carbon capture, use and storage, an emissions reduction technology as part of multiple initiatives to manage existing and alternative energy systems and fuels, e.g. hydrogen and electricity. The International Energy Agency’s 2019 hydrogen report says: “[I]f CCUS is used to reduce the CO2 intensity of fossil fuel hydrogen production, that would enable some fossil fuel resources to continue to be used.”
