Emilia Lanier (1569–1645), née Aemilia Bassano
In 1611, Lanier published a volume of poetry, "Salve Deus Rex Judaeorum", the fourth woman in England to publish poetry and the first to declare herself as intending to earn her living from this. Speculation has identified her as Shakespeare's Dark Lady.
