The Pearl River Delta
The narrow strait separates Shiziyang in the north and Lingdingyang in the south. In the past it has been heavily defended against attack as the naval gateway to the city of Guangzhou (Canton). Macau and Hong Kong sit on, respectively, the west and east sides of the Delta as the river flows into the South China Sea.
