The city formed by the book itself
The author, Christine de Pizan, creates an allegorical city by collecting a wide array of famous women throughout history and "housing" them in the City of Ladies, the book, built using the building blocks of the examples of the women for not only the walls and houses of the city but also as building blocks for her thesis that women are a valued and significant part of society.
