The nature of bioelectricity in the body
Bioelectricity is something naturally generated by or occurring within living cells and tissues. The concept is reputed to have sprung from seeing the effect of touching a charged piece of metal to a nerve in a dead frog's leg, which kicked, which in turn is credited with having been part of the inspiration for Mary Shelley's work "Frankenstein". Although Galvani studied the hearing of birds, quadrupeds, and humans over several years he did not formally publish his findings.
