Indonesia
The first GANEFO (Games of the New Emerging Forces) tournament was held in 1963. The new tournament was instituted following the International Olympic Committees indefinite suspension of Indonesia after the 1962 Asian Games, which Indonesia hosted, where Israel and Taiwan were denied entry. GANEFO was set up as an alternative multinational competitive sporting event to the Olympic Games. The organisation adopted the motto onward, no retreat and it was formally acknowledged in 1963 by 36 countries. There was a second Games at the end of 1966, but no further Games have been held.
