Hardicanute, or Harthacnut
Harold Harefoot and then his brother Harthacnut became king of England in succession after the death of their father Cnut (or Canute) the Great. Harthacnut like his father was also King of Denmark. At his death in 1042 he was succeeded by the Anglo-Saxon Edward the Confessor of the House of Wessex. Edward was succeeded by the militarily powerful Harold II (also of Wessex) who was in turn killed in battle in 1066 by the first Norman king, William the Conqueror. No kings of Denmark have ruled in England since.
