Desert
The desert is in the north of the countries, covering most of the La Guajira Peninsula at the northernmost tip of South America. It is home to the Wayuu, herders and also deep-sea divers known for collecting pearls from the Caribbean Sea. The National Natural Park of Macuira is a tropical oasis located in part of the desert.
