30
Storm naming for the season broke into the Greek alphabet as early as September 18. In addition to the 30 named storms, the season produced 13 hurricanes (second-highest on record), and six major hurricanes (tied for second-highest on record): more than double the activity of an average season. The 2021 season continued the high level, producing 21 named storms which was the third highest on record.
