It was repealed by the 1943 Magnuson Act, which permitted resident Chinese nationals to become naturalised citizens, and a national quota of 105 Chinese immigrants p.a. The California law that prevented Chinese marrying whites was repealed in 1948. Large scale Chinese immigration did not occur until the Immigration Act of 1965.
