A telegraph submarine cable with much increased speed in transmission
The development was similar to today's coaxial cable, and was a design that would help revolutionise submarine telegraphy and the future of telephone submarine systems. Thompson was celebrated as a physicist, an electrical engineer, a writer of text books, a minister of religion, a very impressive public lecturer, an artist, a translator and an inventor.
