The second largest desert is the Arctic, with 13.7 million square km.

Sahara Desert
Probably the first one that springs to mind, the Sahara Desert is the world's hottest. Many people think it's also the biggest – but in fact it comes in third, after Antarctica and The Arctic. Covering most of North Africa, the Sahara is almost as large as the United States!
