About 70% of the body is comprised of water. All of ours cells are surrounded by extracellular fluid or a watery solution, cells also have intracellular fluid. So, it is evident that water is important for fertility too. The basic contributions of water to both men and women fertility are :

- Easing implantation of fetus to the uterus wall
- Nourishes eggs and the aids the growth of eggs
- Helps maintaining the consistency of semen, there by helping the sperms to move fast through their way up the cervix
- Helps maintaining the consistency of cervical mucus, which plays an important role in the motility of sperms
