What is my name? What did the other names have in common?

Jan and I were having coffee with our friends, when suddenly she said, "Hey guys, there's something remarkable about most of our names."

We looked around blankly at one another. We went through our names: Bru', Em, Gus, Jan, Marc, and Sam. What could she mean?

Then it hit me! Five of the names had something in common. Mine was the odd one out!

What is my name? What did the other names have in common?

The other names are found as continuous groups of letters "hidden" in the months of the year. Sam (and Al) are not.
