One rabbit saw 6 elephants while going towards River.
Every elephant saw 2 monkeys are going towards river.
Every monkey holds one parrot in their hands.
Now please tell me how many animals are going towards river.

Now there are two monkeys also going towards river
(Every elephant saw 2 monkeys are going towards river, its the same two monkeys seen by every elephant)

Now puzzle also says that every monkey holds one parrot
(Every monkey holds one parrot in their hands)

that means parrots are also, obviously, going towards river. So we need to count two parrots as well.

So in total we have 5 animals going towards river : 1 Rabbit, 2 Monkeys and 2 Parrots.

I guess its 3.
Parrot is bird so they are out of the race.
Rabbit while going to the river saw 6 elephants. And all the 6 elephants saw same 2 monkeys going to the river.

So, only 2 monkeys and a rabbit are going to the river….

The answer is 2. Only two monkeys are going towards the river. The rabbit is going to the river. The key is: towards. The fact that they hold parrots is irrelevant. What does the question ask going to or going towards?

The answer should be 4. 1 rabbit,2 monkeys,1 parrot.
Birds are part of the animal kingdom....they count in the answer.
If "Every elephant" implies the group as a whole saw 2 monkeys....thus no multiplication....
Then the same should apply to the phrase "every monkey"....thus the 2 monkey together as a group are holding 1 parrot.

I guess I thought there was a difference in going TO something and going TOWARDS it...
