All other months except August ends with "ber". So by spelling, August is the odd one out.
school-wise, at least in some parts of the world, we don't have school in august, but we have school in all the other days, so august may be the odd one out because of that factor too (I know it's not universal, but still).
August is the answer, it is the only word without an 'r'.
