There are 12 different chocolates placed on a table along a straight line. In how many ways can a person choose 4 of them such that no 2 of the chosen chocolates lie next to each other?

If all the rings are similar and the order in which they were worn isn't counted then there are 4C3 ways the rings can be worn or 4 ways. This is true if there is no choice in picking the four fingers from 5 of each hand. If it is to be considered then there are 5C4*4C3 ways to wear the ring ie., 5*4 = 20 ways.
