I have more shoes than anybody, but less feet than everyone. I am met in the morning, but departed in the night. I may shake as if I’m angry, but I won’t bite. What am I ?

What am I?
I’m white, and used for cutting and grinding.
When I’m damaged, humans usually remove or fill me.
For most animals I am a useful tool.
