The given equations are
8x - 6y = 26 ---------> (1)
11x - 9y = 8 ----------> (2)
Now divide the equation (1) by 2 and we get
4x - 3y =13. Now multiply this equation by 3. We get,
12x - 9y = 39 ............... (3)
Solving the equations (2) and (3) we get,
-x = - 31 or x = 31.
Substituting this value of x= 31, in 4x - 3y = 13, we get,
124 - 3y = 13 or 3y = 124-13 = 111 or y = 37.
