However, as it turned out, 90% of the components were rejected as they were defective.
What is the loss to the vendor?

Vendor spent:
25*(2000-30%)=x*125% --> x=1700*25/1.25= Rs 34000
Vendor gained:
25*(2000-90%)= Rs. 5000
Loss:
Rs. 34000 - Rs. 5000= Rs. 29000 or 29000/34000*100%=85.3%
